Head Stuck in Train Tracks

Holy moly - a man who fell into the 6 train tracks at Union Square got his head stuck near the third rail and still survived! The Daily News says a 38 year old man, Camus Thomas, fell off the downtown platform around 6:48PM last night, with his head "wedged near the third rail, but workers cut power before a train could pull into the station," according to the MTA. Wedged! The Post says Thomas, who is homeless, was seriously injured when he did "come into contact with the 600 volt third rail." Newsday adds that a platform cop helped Thomas up and that Thomas' hair was ignited, "filling the station with an acrid odor." Again, don't stand close to the platform, and that platform is especially curving and weird, with the extending floor.

was wondering what happened. The station was filled with mobs of voyeurs and confused travelers. After seeing the man carried out on a stretcher and dripping blood, it is a relief to hear that he made it out ok.
