Ticket Stub Craftiness

I've saved just about every concert ticket, sports event, and even some movie tickets throughout the years. I want to frame/display/preserve my collection somehow. What can I do that's cool??2005_06_asktickets.jpg

Ask Gothamist is a fan of decoupage - it's easy to do and is inexpensive since it requires few materials. For those of you not familiar with decoupaging, this is when you take items and basically glue/shellac them onto an object. You could decoupage your ticket stubs onto practically anything - an inexpensive table, a large piece of plywood (which you could then hang on a wall), a dresser... The best glue for decoupaging is Mod Podge, which can be found at just about any craft/art supply store in the city.

You can also do a search for "ticket stubs" in the forums on Craftster to get some ideas about crafty things that have been done with ticket stubs - including some great ticket-stub bookmarks!

Opps - I guess I didn't do the link in my previous post correctly. If you type it yourself the company is www.thatsmyticket.com.

HEY! Don't glue! There's this great item I found in the back of Rolling Stone. http://ticketalbum.com/ 32 pages holds 96 tix and can be customized, sports or concert themed cover. I haven't bought one yet but the little demo (wait for it...waaaait for iiit) show it pretty clearly. How can you beat $7.95 people? I know there's some special moment tix in your collection, glue's permanent dude

    Good luck

It's too bad 95% of ticket stubs nowadays look the same from a foot away.

there's actually a company that makes ticket stub albums, you can even customize them...forget what it's called, but they advertise in the back of Rolling Stone.

  • Pottery Barn has a "Collectors Box" which is essentially a shadow box frame with an opening at the top where you can drop in whatever you like. I remember in the catalog they showed it on a wall with someone's matchbook collection dropped inside. Might look cool with tons of ticket stubs On the website they show with seashells dropped in and when you look at the product with the "View In Room" you can see the Seashell ones they did as well as ones where they've sort of pinned various maps and bits of paper in a collage above the bed.

Click my name and it'll send you to the URL at Pottery Barn.

  • Hey that's an awesome idea. I got so many Ticket Stubs and right now they are in a small photo album. I think i will make a collage.
