Ticket Giveaway: March of the Penguins

Gothamist and Warner Independent Pictures are giving away 5 pairs of tickets to a screening of March of the Penguins, tomorrow, June 22, at 7:00 PM.

Each winter, isolated in the rough terrain of Antarctica, thousands of emperor penguins embark on their annual single-file-line pilgrimage, from their ocean home to a blizzard-stricken breeding ground. March of the Penguins documents these penguins’ struggle of exhaustion, mating, and survival, while Morgan Freeman lends his deep voice as the narrator, explaining why the resolute and driven penguins’ perilous journey is simply “one of the most beautiful love stories on Earth.” Gothamist will admit that, at first, we underestimated MOTP because it doesn’t feature psychotic talking-penguins repeatedly dropping pop culture references (Madagascar spoiled us), but this documentary was equally touching as it was entertaining; you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the fascinating, inspiring, and amusing emperor penguins and their unbearably cute chicks (who put pandas to shame).
