Movable Hype 3.0 Recap

Last night's Movable Hype show was a great time, thanks to everyone who came out and to Nick Catchdubs for deejaying. And a very special thanks to all of the bands. Oh, and David Bowie even showed up(!)—which, actually, we knew was going to happen as he needed a reserved seat and list spots; once he arrived he sat upstairs in the balcony with a baseball hat on and clapped for Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.

Stay tuned for the next Hype which will hopefully be taking place in August/September. In the meantime, we feel it's our duty to tell you that you MUST see Ghostland Observatory (pictured at last night's show) again (or for the first time) while they're still in town this week. These guys are so amazing and we're pretty sure we kept hugging them and telling them so last night.

Dates are listed here. Brooklyn Vegan has more on the show, as does Austinist editor Ben Brown - who has been travelling with Ghostland on this tour. Above photo of Aaron of Ghostland taken by "us". Brian V was also on hand documenting the night and you can see his photos here.

  • I know it's been said many times before, but seriously, get yourself to Ghostland Observatory's show. They were fantastic!

Not as good as Brian's set, but more picture action to be found here.

  • All Bowie seems to do lately is attend shows. What a life! I want a Ziggy Stardust reunion NOW.

  • I missed David Bowie? dammit! I was too busy bumbling around the place to notice. I have to pay attention next time!

Mr. Bowie always gravitates to the most interesting people. First thing I noticed about Live8 was the absence of Bowie. He knows it's much preferable to hang out with the gothamist than bon jovi and sting.
