Amazing that the Mets and the Yankees can afford to basically pay for their own stadiums, but the Jets won't come back without huge city subsidies. And you wonder why they haven't won a Superbowl in 36 years. Losers.

For the three weeks of the games, traffic between Manhattan & the Meadowlands can be managed.

NJ is part of NY? Awww, you're so cute. I guess it's part of metro NY, but isn't everything from DC to Boston?

Also, have you tried to get to the Meadowlands from the city?

We need a maginot line at the NJ border!

One of the flaws in the original bid was that the Olympic stadium was too far away from the village and the other sports venues. When you look at the Olympics of the past and the plans by the candidate cities for 2012, most of the stadiums and events are mostly close to each other.

The Meadowlands is a fine sports center, but with the original and revised plan, its just too far. Not to mention it’s a pain in the ass to get to.

BTW, once replaced, the old Yankee Stadium should just be bulldozed. It's too big for school sports and too dull to serve as anything else. Besides, the new stadium is displacing community facilities, which will need to be replaced. How about hotels and commercial over the Metro-North station?

New Jersey is also part of metro NYC. It also has a lot of great sports infrastructure with decent transportation (think Meadowlands, Stevens Institute, Fairleigh Dickinson, Rutgers.) It's a shame that Doctoroff & Co., did not include NJ in their bid. It would have been a powerful package.

I actually thought Paris was a better location than Manhattan for the games, but that's just me.
