Between a trip out to Fire Island this weekend, and New York Metro's wrap-up of new fish shacks, Gothamist is ready for summer. While our all-time favorite is Pearl Oyster Bar, we're eager to try the newbies -- Black Pearl, in the East Village, and Bar Minnow in Park Slope. We've already had a sample of the fish shack at BLT Fish, and while we only got a tiny taste of the raw bar and a batch of fried oysters (pictured at left), we want to head back for another round soon.
Pearl Oyster Bar, 18 Cornelia Street, West Village, 212-691-8211.
Black Pearl, 14 Ave. A, near E. Houston St., 212-358-7583.
Bar Minnow, 444 9th St., at Seventh Ave., Park Slope, Brooklyn, 718-788-4376.
Fish Shack at BLT Fish, 21 W. 17th St., btw. Fifth and Sixth Aves., 212-691-8888.

Went to Bar Minnow this weekend for a late lunch. The steamed mussels were tasty, but no more so than Johnny Macks a few blocks away. The tilapia sandwich my fiance had was pretty good. They're still working the kinks out with service, I think, since it took alittle while to get our order going...
nice hints, we'll surely head over soon

I really wanted to love Bar Minnow, but it unfortunately didn't happen.
They were out of fried clams, the lobster roll was sparsely stuffed and way overpriced, the oysters were tasty but cost more than rhinoplasty, my tilapia sandwich was over-cooked, the first two wines we ordered were out of stock.
that being said, I'll probably give it another chance in a few months.
Black Pearl is fantastic.
