Kindergarten as Gun Exchange

Kids do the darndest things! They say funny things, they think poop jokes are great (okay, so do we), and they bring their dad's loaded Glock to school! Oh, yes: A five year-old brought a loaded .45-caliber gun to PS 16 in Corona, Queens, and handed it off to a classmate. The classmate brought it home, taking it out of his Teenage Mutant Ninja backpack (love the NY Post's attention to detail) and showed his mom. His mom rightly freaked out and started to interrogate him. Then the police got involved and ended up arresting Tesfari Davis for endangering his kid and possessing a weapon. What Gothamist doesn't understand is why Davis's son will be serving in-home suspension for bringing the gun - he's 5, how did he know, and plus, home doesn't sound that great.

Kids see guns in computer games all the time. So it desensitizes them to guns in real life. Same for adults. Brave new world that is coming. Let's hope most of us will survive to old age.

Jen, it says "in-house" suspension, not "in-home" suspension. I think that means he will be serving his suspension at school in a detention room.
