a while back, a building that was in the middle of construction on N7 St (bet. Bedford and Driggs) also collapsed. luckily, nobody was working on the site at the time. I remember the sound of it coming down and the big ole dust cloud that followed it that engulfed the entire corner. pretty crazy. I sometimes feel there are more poorly-trained workers on construction sites these days.

After viewing the other photos, am I even allowed to ask if it was a Hasidic-owned building, or is this not PC? When I saw the headline, I thought for sure it was my former slowly rotting residence.

I guess it's amusing if you have some issues with a Hasidic kid in pais. Otherwise, let people be. But on-topic, I think stuff like this is going to be more and more commonplace as the building craze contuinues. People are building and renovating like crazy. And it's only natural that eventually work crews get strained. Or are hired with even less experience than some have. And yu have a recipe for disaster. Anyone want to take bets on how much shoddy construction is happening around the city in general right now? Or bets on how 3-5 years from now some buildings will 'suddenly' start to fall apart for the most trivial of reasons.
