voto = I vote (yo voto) votas = you vote (tú votas) Votar is the root verb. Voto, votas, vota, votan, etc. are all the same verb, just with different conjugations (I vote, you vote, he votes, they vote, etc).

Say "the Latino constituency." The title ought to say "¡Vote por mi!", vote for me. And having a South American accent is infinitely better than having one from Spain: How many Latinos in NY? How many Spaniards?

I think your headline translates to "I vote for myself." Voto is the noun "vote," and "votar" is the verb "to vote."

Bloomberg's accent is actually worse than a student trying really hard. And nice background music (complete with conga drums). Bloomberg thinks that speaking stilted Spanish over pseudo-Latin music is all he needs to do to get the Hispanic vote.
