I'm sure that when it all comes down to it, it'll be discovered that the kid, while being transported to the police station, fell down 50 or 60 times. All by himself. And no-one saw him do it, either...

Thanks, keep... when I started to write the post, I knew I had seen the "vicious" part but then when I got into the story, there was less detail about it. My attempts to regain an Internet connection got me distracted.

Dunno about that--seems that a bit of mob justice was dished out. NYPOST: "A furious mob delivered some hard-core street justice in the form of a vicious beating to a teenager who allegedly slashed a pretty young woman earlier this week, witnesses said yesterday."
