This is not the first time there horses have run wild in NYC. About four years ago there was one madly circling Wash. Sq. Park. The cops brilliant solution - bring their cars into the park and so they could chase THEIR OWN HORSE. I suppose the cops weren't compltely crazy (other than losing their own horse), as they eventually corralled the beast into an enclosed part of the park, returning Manhattan to the loose-horse-free space nature intended.
