Funny that Pollack says that his experience with Brooklyn only includes Peter Luger's, considering that part of his film was shot in Crown Heights.

Sydney Pollack is a lummox! Manhattan obviously has the hoity-toity cosmopolitan edge, but when it comes to down-at-the-heels internationalism (which is what the UN is all about), Brooklyn is the place.

Where could they possibly be looking for space in Brooklyn? If it isn't Metrotech, what could be big enough? Not sure if anyone else gets this feeling, but I smell a Ratner. The UN at Atlantic Yards anyone?

i do love that building. too bad it's so crappy. it is home to one hell of a cafeteria with great views though. it had a conveyer belt for trays!! and yes, i know that's not too hard, but i was young.
