There's a lot going on this weekend, as per usual. While we didn't celebrate Cinco de Mayo last night, nor were we at the New Order show...we are finding ourselves a little bit tired today. We blame the weather and lack of caffeine in our system, so we're hoping the sun will come out and we'll be able to motivate to some of these events:
FILM: The Arlene's Grocery Picture Show is returning this Saturday. Starting at around 2pm and running through the night at multiple venues. Our pick: "Thinking Cap World" by Tom Eaton. This screens at MF Gallery sometime between 8 and 9pm. The film features voices by Sufjan Stevens and Tom Eaton, music by Bob Wiseman.

WORKSHOP: The world's first Contagious Media Showdown is happening this month. Do you have what it takes to corral enough traffic to win the cash prizes? MUSIC: Did you know the Whitney holds a series called Soundcheck? We didn't! But now we do, phew. Just in time too, Chocolate Genius plays tonight. PARTY: CHAISE magazine is celebrating their 2nd issue tonight at Southpaw. Chaise is a nonprofit, freely-distributed new media arts magazine on CD+DVD. The second issue is full of great film, video, animation, music, music videos, books, drawings, performance documentation, interactive works, and Brooklyn love.
Laptop acts, projectionists and screenings of the disc are planned.

MOVEMENT: The Great Saunter! The Shorewalkers will hold their 20th annual Great Saunter this Saturday. A 32-mile walk around Manhattan's rim will go through over 20 parks and promenades, celebrating the newly opened Manhattan Waterfront Greenway.
