It's a shame that we have come to this. Can't build a tall tower anymore. Can't build near a street. Can't do anything that symbolizes the greatness that was AMERICA. Guess we aren't that great anymore. If 10 people can decide the future of the United States it seems that we have officialy lost the War on Terror. It's too bad.

Uh, Brian...it hasn't been built yet. The leaky, cracked thing is called a "temporary" PATH station. Calatrava's design looks very cool, but I hope it is not susceptible to the sort of thing that happened to the new terminal at CDG last year.

Calatrava's entrance to the PATH station might be nice to look at, but the station itself is a mess--the whole thing leaks, the concrete was cracked all over the place within a few weeks of the re-opening, and the "art" on the concourse (where the turnstyles are) is unbelievably hideous. Here's to hoping that the redesign of the rest of the site is not as half-assed.

Well, I think the idea is that now whatever will be at the WTC is an uber-symbol of America's enduring freedom and capitalism... it's been targetted twice, so it's possible it's ripe for a third time.

"..citing things like the building being too close to the street." So every building thats tall has to be built with a huge buffer zone away from the street?? The NYPD's Demands are unreasonable. Not even new buildings in D.C. are build that far away from the street (Over 100 feet they requested). Even if it is a tower. What about the Citigroup Center, Empire State, the new Bank of America Tower, NY Times Tower?
