Lower East Side Stabbing Death

Right near the Bowery Ballroom, a 20 year old man was found bleeding from a stab wound on Friday night; he died later at Bellevue. He had been found at 7:30PM Friday night by a Bowery Ballroom employee who thought the man was drunk at first but then called an ambulance. Police still haven't been able to ID the man, who only had $10 and a cellphone on him, though they hope the cellphone will help with that. Other than that, it's a mystery whether the man, who was wearing a Yankees jersey and "pricey jeans," was killed randomly or by someone who knew him. This is the first homicide for Precinct 5 this year.

hmm..perhaps if they had a few cops on the Bowery instead of the Critical Mass ride, this wouldn't have happened.

The ride went right through there at that time, too.

I live in the building right where the guy collapsed. I was on my roof deck, and noticed the critical path bike ride, when my friend looked down and noticed the stabbed man.

So yes, critical path ride AND the man being stabbed happened at the same time, and may have intersected. Word is that the guy may have been stabbed in the park, and stumbled across the chrystie st. intersection to the other side, which would literally have put him right before or after the critical path ride.
