Awesome interview. At first I got curious to read it since Justina and I happen to have the same last name (Mejias), and I'm also from Puerto Rico.

As with Heather's comment above, I also loved the observation "listening is an act of love". As a matter of fact, I try to do so all the time. It makes me feel better about myself, since I feel that I'm giving something special to anyone who talks to me, and that is that I'm actually listening to what they have to say. Everyone has a story to tell, but not everyone is willing to listen, and that is what we need right now. That is what Justina does.

I'll be going to grad school in NY next fall, and it's good to know there are people out there doing such wonderful things to help the city.

very moving interview. Though I have never heard of this woman, she is a great citizen of this town. Also, like the question "How is this month different from other months?" Cute reference to Passover.

I like that observation that "listening is an act of love."

It is true, giving attention to someone else is the most precious gift one can give to another.

Unfortunately, in this age of cellphones and continuous chatter, people are no longer unable to perform this basic act of love by listening. So they fill their days with empty sex and all sorts of clothes and other material things or information...and it is all empty...there is no love, no listening....
