People, revel in the niceness that is Tuesday the 26th, because the rest of the week looks like a huge stinker. Wednesday: Rain. Thursday: Showers late. Friday: Rain. Saturday: Rain. Bah bah bah! There might even be a little rain tonight; let's hope it's after what will be an exciting night at Shea Stadium: it's Martinez vs. Smoltz.
And as Gothamist loves to check out Accuweather for "Severe Weather Potential," we guess we can take comfort in the fact that our chances for "Heavy Snow," "Ice Build-Up," and "Rapid Freeze Up" are minimal.

i should add that if you're going out to shea (as i am), it's a tad breezy, so you might want to bring a coat.
Speaking of weather, and in particular Accuweather, there's storm front developing over a pro-corporate bill introduced last week by Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa. in the Senate which "would prohibit federal meteorologists from competing with companies such as AccuWeather and The Weather Channel, which offer their own forecasts through paid services and free ad-supported Web sites."
Basically that means that, if it passes, the National Weather Service will be prohibited from releasing free weather data because these "federal services threaten the livelihoods of private weather companies."
