These kids don't (probably) need the money. Yet they are into stealing already. This does not reflect on their characters or the characters of their parents. No doubt a lot of people will find all sorts of excuses for them. Too bad.

the scrawny boy will have years of therapy for this. Not only was he beat up by a gang of girls, but the freudian theft of his pod is emasculating. Even though it's awful I don't recall any recess bullying being handled by the cops when I was a kid. I guess the uptown kids all have attorneys on retainer.

also, it seems less that they wanted his ipod and more that they wanted to really mess with him -- they took his glasses too, and last i heard those weren't in high demand. it's just that ipod thefts have been in the news lately, so everyone seems to be focusing on that angle. Also, gotta love the quote from the anonymous classmate: "I know her. She wouldn't do anything like that," said the classmate, who did not wish to be identified. "She's not the nicest person but she wouldn't beat up someone smaller than her."

Wow, with all these iPod thefts afflicting Gotham Superman must be sitting on his ass. Maybe he doesn't think it's an important enough crime. In that case, is there a superhero out there who will stop this crime wave? Where is iPod Man when you need him? I hope Steve Jobs is building some robot/superhero in his facilities right now.

It doesn't say who commented on the boy's physique. I wonder if the tuffy girls called him "scrawny". Also, since when did 16 year olds have recess? Were they playing kickball on the blacktop or something? At 16 years old I had a more organized phy ed class.
