Re: The Buckaroo When I was bartending, one of my regular customers was a grizzled old vet named Herc, who would order a Scurvy Buccaneer, basically the same drink with a wedge of lime. Scurvy is a disease brought on by a vitamin C deficiency, which famously besieged many long voyages.. so doctors thought introducing a lime to a sailor's rum was the most reliable way to up their vitamin C intake. Hence the scurvy buccaneer. So yar. Cheers.
