it's based on size. if i remember right, it's in the $20-40 range for something 16x20" or smaller. if they're not too busy, they might do it while you wait. otherwise, it might take a day.

how much does it cost to get a screen made at pearl?

the only problem with pearl's screenmaking is that they are weak and loose. they work fine for maybe 50 passes or so and then they start getting too loose. they are great for a quick solution though and if you've never printed, it's fun to do. just go in with a photocopy of your art. if you DIY, get water-based inks made especially for textiles and make sure to keep the screen damp with a spray bottle while you go (no lunch breaks) because if the ink dries on the screen, you're done. if you're going for more than one color and need accurate registration, you'll want to outsource it. the upside to DIY is that you can experiment with colors and layering as much as you want and come out with more creative prints.
