Man Shoots Friend After Being Photographed

2005_04_photoflash.jpgThis might be a cautionary tale for all shutterbugs: A man taking pictures at a Brooklyn bar was shot in the face. Sheldon Goodridge had been taking photographs of a blues band and the crowd at the Cornerstone bar when, according to the Daily News, his camera's flashes set off a former friend. It's unclear why the friend is a "former friend," but witnesses say that the suspect, "Frankie," hugged Goodridge before leaving.

Other bar patrons called 911; they handed a phone to Goodridge, who was bleeding from the bottle cap sized holes in his cheeks (the bullet went through both), and the 911 operator told him to keep pressure on the wounds. Goodridge is recovering at Kings County Hospital.

Hello, my name is Sheldon Goodridge and I'm inquiring to find out if you have any more information to this story or if this is all you have? The reason why I'm asking is because, like I said, my name is Sheldon Goodridge and I'm the person who was shot. From what I remember that night and believe me, i remeber a lot, more than people think i do. 1, Frankie did not give me a hug when he left. 2. I was not bleeding from both cheeks. The bullet entered my right cheek and it exited behind my ear. Are you serious, "it's unclear why the friend is a former friend", he shot me! Don't you think that's reason enough. It's funny how every newspaper in NY has a different sory when i told them to their face what happened. I just wanted to share that with you. In the future, you should try and get the whole story (the true story) before you go to print!
