Rap star DMX will face charges after causing a car accident on the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx. DMX apparently hit a car, which then bumped into the worst kind of car to bump into: A police cruiser. WNBC says that DMX was arrested on similar charges a month ago, which made Gothamist wonder that if DMX gets pitches for him to star in a sitcom where he plays a rapper who isn't allowed to drive anymore, so he makes his record label's college intern drive him; ideally, the college intern would be some square white kid for a hilarious clash of cultures.
Last summer, DMX was arrested after trying to carjack a person at JFK Airport.

About 5 years ago I was staying at the W Hotel, Los Angeles in a nice suite.
I smelled a lot of pot from my next door neighbor, it smelled as good or better than mine.
I brought back a box of Krispy Kreme donuts to the hotel late Saturday night. 4 black people, 1 female, 3 males, were sitting in chairs outside our two suites (we had a common enterance). I said hello, introduced myself, and went into my room.
I'm a white boy originally from Queens, raised on LI and schooled at Columbia. I like rap and some hip-hop, so I am familiar with a lot of rappers but didn't recognize this guy. All 4 were eyeing my Krispy Kreme as I went into the room.
I came out, offered donuts to everyone and a head came out the door. The 5th a male, pretty buff, very red eyes (the pot), and a gruff voice. I offered the last one to him, he grunted, took it, took a bite, didn't like it and went to hand it back to me with the bite gone.
The woman, who obviously knew him for a long time, dressed him down as only a black woman can, saying something to the effect that his mom taught him better.
She took it in disgust and threw it out.
I said goodnight and retired for the night.
I checked out the next day and one of the 3 guys was sitting outside the door. I said goodbye and then asked him who the guy in the room was, he said DMX, (Up In Here was his big hit at the time and I loved it-hearing it at Shea whenever Jay Payton came to bat) but I only put the connection together later.
He was an interesting fellow, probably in to record some songs or filming a film with Steve Seagal (spelling?)
So I've followed his career since, bought a bunch of CD's (very talented) and always found him an interesting character.
I guess he's got some unresolved issues...
This is a great Blog!
