The Wrong Stuff

For the third time in four games, the Yankees sent one of their new pitchers out to the Yankee Stadium mound. For the first time this year, that did not translate into a win. Jaret Wright was the first victim of a relentless Orioles’ attack that pounded every Yankee pitcher for at least one run on route to a 12-5 victory. For the Yankees, the defeat marked the second in as many games and brought their season record to 2-2.

Once again, the Yankee offense could not get a hit when it mattered and Alex Rodriguez led the way going 0-5 with a strikeout and leaving seven runners on base, a large part of the eighteen that the team stranded.

The Yankees will look to bounce back today behind their premiere, off-season acquisition, Randy Johnson. They will then play the Orioles again on Sunday before flying to Boston to face the Red Sox and witness the raising of their World Series banner.

baseball doesn't start in NY until late August so everybody should just chill if even for the 1st week or two!! the really important sports topic that you've raised doesn't even allow for a comment box!!

Instead of using a knick game as a venue for singles night, it should be transformed into a 'sell the team' rally. gothamist is cool but fraternizing with a bunch of hucksters like the dolan's isn't going to help your image.
