angry anon, I'm sorry for your loss, but: 1) You're talking to the wrong commenter 2) She's not saying your friend was an idiot for falling into the track but in fact, she's saying that the idiots who stand in the narrow area create a dangerous environment for other passengers, possibly including your friend. Huge difference.

yeah exactly. while i waited for the fucking b/d for 40 minutes, a total of 7 trains went by on the f/v side. thats why i think the whole rain excuse is bullshit. i've lived in nyc for 30 years. as far as i can remember, rain is not a new phenomenon.

The Strange thing yesterday: No apparent delays for the F train in Queens. It was Bizzare as Queens Plaza often experiences flooding issues when it rains that much. It was a pleasant surprise.

It doesn't surprise me that someone was hit at Columbus Circle. They're doing some sort of construction down there which has reduced many parts of the A/C/B/D platform to narrow little passageways. And of course, because people are IDIOTS, they wait on these thin stretches (clogging them further) instead of walking past them to the wider parts of the platform like they're supposed to. This makes it very difficult and scary to walk from one end of the platform to the other, or to transfer to the 1/9 upstairs. It's amazing that someone doesn't fall on to the tacks or into the path of a speeding train every day.

When it rains, I have email problems. With Verizon. I have a colleague who lives about 10 blocks away who has problems with her Verizon phone service when it rains...

Crappy subway service, garbled public announcements, dirty and/or hot cars/stations, pushers, jumpers, muggers, killers, vermin, fare increases, etc. The MTA - you can count on them to guarantee that you don't count.

I was waiting for the uptown B or D at the rockerfeller stop (50th - 47th) at 9:30 last night, and there were FIVE F trains and TWO V trains over the course of 40 minutes, until a D finally showed up. "Rain" is such a bullshit excuse.
