More Sophisticated Than A TV Tray

With the closure of the Screening Room in Tribeca last year, those diners who long for the dinner and a movie date to occur all in the same location have been cast a drift. However, with the advent of Dekk restaurant's weekly Superfilm Tuesday nights and now the montly Dine-In Theater at The Archive in East Williamsburg, there are now a few options for high quality nosh with a side of cinema.

Tonight at Dekk watch two short films by Christine Sciulli at 7:30 pm and then John Schlesinger's Billy Liar (1963) at 8 pm. Dekk is located on 134 Reade St. in Tribeca and features an American and Italian influenced menu. Then on Thursday, The Archive (49 Bogart St., directly off the Morgan L stop) will be hosting their first Dine-In Theater, a monthly event pairing dinners cooked by a changing roster of New York chefs with a film. Leighton Edmondson will be cooking a three course French meal with each course served to coincide with the disjointed courses in Luis Bunuel's Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie.
