I was in the area that night- and there were so many bridge-and-tunnel kids, I nearly died. And they crowded Roll-N-Roaster, too, which is what really bugged me. Bah, darn kids!!!

is the capacity based upon the room that the show takes place in, or the whole building? because it always seems way too crowded...

I recall seeing an iggy pop show a number of years ago where the floor was moving as if it was an earthquake. I had a palpable feeling that the floor would collapse.

I saw the Bosstones there in like 97. The 1st floor was bouncing up and down

I've felt that too - it's a little freaky. Yet another reason (like moving the Arcade Fire and Fiery Furnaces shows, and the poor ventilation) that the Bowery at Webster Hall experiment hasn't been a good one.

I've been up on that balcony during some raucous shows and the floor does buckle, you can feel it sway a little bit. everybody looks around like something's not right but nothing ever happens. one of these days it's gonna give way.
