Pot Empire Busted In Queens and Brooklyn

2005_03_potfarm.jpgEven more audacious than the Eldridge Street marijuana farm that was upstairs from a nursery school, it seems that the Gambino crime family had huge pot operation in Brooklyn and Queens near schools. The federal authorities busted the ring yesterday, and we think Newsday quote sums up the operation: "An organized crime operation that's produced high-quality marijuana since 1997 at a 100-acre upstate farm, a Bayside house and a Brooklyn warehouse outfitted with hydroponic troughs illuminated by $800,000 in stolen electricity has been shut down." Those mobsters are relentless: Pot farm with stolen electricity. The Queens location, where the pot farm was in the basement, had a strong exhaust fan to remove the "pungent odor." The ringleader, Peter Zuccaro, is currently serving time in a Florida prison.

sigh... this will surely drive up the prices. haven't the feds anything better to do?

Well one thing is for sure...

Pot Prices in NYC are about to skyrocket like Gas Prices just have...

The potconomy is going to require kids and young people around the city to ask for more money from mom and dad...

Guys, I know you love pot and all, but these peeps can't just steal eletricity from others and get away with it.

For a country that gives out mood altering drugs, like lithium, prozac, zoloft, welbutrin etc...

I would think the govt. morons would decriminalize marijuana by now. In reality it is probably the least harmful drug on the planet next to asprin. granted smoking is not good for you, but there are other ways to get the desired effect.

It is stupid to make criminals out of people who like a plant that in it's basic state can provide a nice theraputic effect.
But crime is big business and why fight real (violent) crime when you can make criminals out of harmless people who like to get stoned, eat food and watch movies.

One inmate to his new cell mate.
"what are you in for?"

"I got busted with a oz. of weed, How about you ?"

"Triple homicide... now bend over..."

Is it just me or does this sound like a Dope Wars scenario? Good thing I liquidated my inventory of Heroin and ludes and reinvested in weed. For once I'm missing my TI-81...

Are you guys crazy? Marijuana is a drug..you should work in a rehab facility...very "nice" people!

who's crazy? marijuana is a plant with mild psychoactive properties that are FAR less harmful than most legal drugs. it should be legalized, taxed and regulated just like alcohol. nobody has ever died from smoking pot and it is not physically addictive. its criminalization is what created a thriving black market and the reason these thugs can make the big bucks off of it. if it were legalized, criminals wouldn't be making the money, the burden on our prisons would be lightened, and it would generate tax revenue.

And Osama Bin Laden is still on the loose but that found Bobby Fischer.

wow sounds like there are way more people that like pot than hate it : the only reason the"feds" wont legalize it is becuase they havent found a way to make money off of it... plus even if they did legalize it people would be to affriad to smoke it in public or they all would just think that its some kind of messed up joke by the government further more they prey on the marijuana growers becuase EVERYbody knows when there is a big farm in the city because there are somany ways that they can find out: electric bill sky rocketing, the smell of some dank... plus if a big building has its lights on almoust 24/7
weed is way to popular of a drug but its amazing. if the "feds" did find a way to put a tax on it and decided to legalize it, dealers would be out of buisiness because they would be selling it at freakin giant eagle or walmart or somthing. wouldnt that suck if pigs could come into your home at anytime on 4:20 lol thats a scary thought and plus pot heads are very harmless people and very calm mild people. enough said...
