Barney Martin Dies

Barney Martin, the man who played Jerry's dad on Seinfeld for all but one episode, died at age 82 earlier this week. Gothamist never knew that he was a former NYC detective, as we knew him mainly as a Florida retiree who would overreact at whatever his bachelor son in NYC would do. And who knew he originated the role of cuckolded Amos Hart in Chicago - the same production with Jerry Orbach?
