Yesterday's weather: Pleasant, but boring.
Today's weather: Not so nice, but interesting.
Tomorrow's weather: Not so nice, not so interesting.
All three days: Typical spring weather.
You'll have to forgive the atmosphere, it is going through its typical seasonal spasms as it changes from winter circulation mode to summer circulation mode. It is snowing outside of Gothamist's office north of town this morning. The Weather Service and AccuWeather both believe we will get a couple of inches of snow by tomorrow morning. If that's not enough for you head north and west of the city where up to ten inches may fall. The reason for the snow? So obvious. Strong quasigeostropic frontogenetical forcing of course!
Coming back to earth, this wet one day, dry the next cool weather pattern looks to be our fate for the next several days at least. We'll talk more about the cool weather tomorrow.

why does gothamist whine everytime the weather gets interesting?
I love cold in late fall, winter and early spring.
call me crazy.
try living in la and feel the purgatory of weak seasons. Although we like to vacation near the equator - it is actually a souless void of seasons leading to apathy and despair in the long term. enjoy the adversity!
I spent 10 days in Brussels in April of 2001 and each day the weather was something different. For most of the trip it was cold, but a few times the temperature got above 60. Then a few hours later, we'd get snow and wind, then rain, then more sun, then snow again, all in a few hours. I'm probably exaggerating since it's been a few years, but it was definitely the strangest few days of weather I'd ever seen. This week's weather in NYC reminds me of that trip. It's got to warm up eventually. If it's still cold and blustery in June I'll start to worry.
