<description>&lt;p&gt;I always thought it was interesting, but I think the random color changes are a bit annoying. Not saying it should be rigid and never change, but I think one of the best things in NYC is looking up at something like the Empire State Building and seeing colors based on events or history.  It connects you to the light. And you can either enjoy the colors or enjoy the symbolism or both.

Having the colors change randomly seems cloying and self-indulgent.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
