the dad probably did something stupid, like make fun of the cop's shoes, or his haircut or something. just be nice to them, and ignore 'em a little bit and they'll leave you alone probably. until they start giving you crap for having a mike's hard lemonade in your pocket. thats REALLY messed up.

It's so weird to see this story, because my boyfriend and I bought cookies from that girl! We were at Soundfix a few blocks away, and one of our friends came in with a box of Samoas... and there was a stampede out the door to buy some. We finished the box yesterday... too bad can't get any more.

Can't wait for this to hit the evening news. I imagine tomorrow we'll see mayor Bloomburg enjoying a box of cookies. Dirk, if you really want to buy some cookies, you can see from the Post article that Grace Marie Louis of Bethpage, LI is selling (and apparently, she delivers to the city too). Yeah, right, he wants to be in the paper so much he went out on the street and provoked the cops into hassling him for selling Girl Scout cookies. (sigh) I meant the police officer... At the least, the NYPD would know that they'd be the topic of the Press or at least a topic for Jay Leno.

Understood that the policeman was just doing his job, but does he have to be that anal? Pompous Prick But Girl Scout cookies are nasty. Perhaps his was doing the community a favor?
