Cabaret License: This Week's Music Megalist
Too bad Snow Patrol isn't playing this week to provide us with some poetic justice.
Right on to it:
Tuesday night, as you're probably aware, media baby Interpol playing with the amazing Blonde Redhead, but if you're not already there, you're probably not going. It's at Radio City, and $39.50.
I'd say check out The Frames at Bowery Ballroom. Their live shows are stunning, and it's in the neighborhood.
Wednesday see M. Ward @ Knitting Factory, or Sleater-Kinney at Mercury, depending on the direction your tastes lean. I'd put money on the Mercury show myself, but some folks get all up in arms defending the genius of M. Ward.
Thursday, one big fat do-the-world-some-good-while-you-rock option, Asobi Seksu @ Rothko for the Giant Robot Tsumani Relief Benefit w/ Elkland, Daddy and Kite Operations. $12 and you SO have to go.
Friday, Calla and Palomar at Mercury. Any show at Mercury promises to be intimate, if not outstanding, so it's always a good fallback for finding some new stuff, and the shows are always cheap, this one is $10.
Saturday, holy crap, Bonnie Prince Billy at Soundfix Records, Bedford/N11th in Williamsburg. Also, Benzos creating some ambience at Pianos (advance tickets bonus link!).
Sunday, Lou Barlow at the far-away Maxwell's, but you better know it'll be worth it.
Go on, get outside.
