Our Valentine's Day gift to you is not candy or flowers, but two new blogs. Welcome Bostonist and Seattlest!
While we've had our problems with Boston, we're happy to have a blog town where you can barely understand people due to their accents. Under the watch of editors Jon Petitt and Katie Getz, coverage includes the trials of the T and football's favorite Dr. Demento, Pats coach Bill Belichick. Gothamist can't wait until baseball season starts!
And to the other corner of the country, beautiful but very rainy Seattle. Dan Gonsiorowski and the team are making sure we know why the Space Needle is red and keeps tabs on that other Seattle-area business behemoth, Starbucks. And the reason behind why Seattlest has broken the -ist mold: It would have cost us $50,000 to buy the Seattleist domain name, and we realized that it just sounded way too goofy.
So enjoy our new sites, as well as others (Chicagoist, LAist, SFist, DCist, Londonist, Torontoist) in our family. And if you have any questions or suggestions about our network of sites, email Jake or Jen.
Publisher's note: Gothamist is also looking for people to help with our upcoming Paris, Austin, and Philly projects. Get in touch!
