This weekend marks the last two days you have to find love before Valentine's Day. So get out there! Quick! You don't want to be alone on a fake holiday do you?! It's okay, we love you, and we'll show you this by giving you a list of things to do this weekend. But we'd never actually pressure you to do them, we're just not like that:
MOVIE: Make it an All Christo weekend. As mentioned earlier MoMa is showing Christo and Jean-Claude documentaries, so check them out before or after hitting up the park.
MUSIC: Tonight head over to the Maritime Hotel Ballroom [16th and 9th] for a champagne toast and a Perry Ferrell performance. It's free, just say this magic word at the door: Poull. Don't ask us, just do it if you want to hear Jane Says.
Saturday night head over to the Luna Lounge [171 Ludlow St] for one of the last times. Sam Champion will be playing and, as usual, it's free. The afterparty is at Hanger Bar [3rd and B].
ARTS: Is it too obvious to suggest The Gates? Okay, why not go check out At the Crossroads of Desire: A Times Square Centennial. The photographic exhibit is at AXA Gallery [787 Seventh Ave at 51st St]. You'll learn a lot about the shiny tourist pit, like it's not even a square! Whoa, that just blew our collective minds.
FASHION: Wave it goodbye. Unless you have an invitation to J.Lo's fashion show tonight that is, but we're guessing you don't.
SPORTS: Gothamist has teamed up with the Knicks to bring you closer to the court and closer to finding lurve. Come join us on Sunday for drinks, speed dating and the game, and then more drinks.

Note: This isn't a "fake" holiday. It's a very old feast day, which, like most other feast days (Christmas) has been taken over by marketing and gimmicks. Now it has more in common with the "Love Day" of the Simpsons (which WAS a fake holiday). I think St. Valentine would be mystified by the fact that he is (now) commemorated by a day dedicated to social pressure to have a date, get jewelry, and get laid.
