That's not chutzpah. I'd be impressed if he stole electricity from the Watchtower, not the Clocktower. To paraphrase the usual misquote: "Hell hath no fury like a Jehovah's Witness scorned."

brian, kevin says on forgotten ny, "The Naval Commandant's House, the crown jewel of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, is visible behind a locked gate from Little Street in Vinegar Hill. It was built between 1805 and 1806 and is purportedly the design of Boston's Charles Bulfinch. Bulfinch designed the U.S. Capitol Building as well as Faneuil Hall and the State House in Boston."

If you head East of the Manhattan Bridge (which feels like North until you look at a map) in DUMBO, maybe down Water St, but I can't remember exactly which street, you end up at a weird dead-end circle. At the circle, there is a huge set of gates and behind the gates a long driveway that leads to a white mansion. Last time I looked, there was a corvette and a couple of other fancy, but old, cars in the driveway. Does anybody know what this place is?
