Christo and Jeanne-Claude On Film

kc2.jpe.jpgIf Gates fever has you itching for more Christo and Jeanne-Claude, consider heading to the MoMA during the next few weeks for one of the documentaries on their previous works.

Collaborating with a number of filmmakers including Albert Maysles and Michael Blackwood, documentaries are a perfect compliment to Christo and Jeanne-Claude's pieces because in a small way they can make permanent what is so ephemeral about their work. The full schedule of docus and times available from MoMA. Even more Gates info previously on Gothamist.

They ran a Maysles film on Christo last night on 13. Of course it was brilliant. I'm a big Maysles fan. He always makes me like things that I didn't think were important before I saw the film. Great job Al.

the film about the reichstag was amazing, the bonus, of course, was that christo and jean-claude as well as the filmmakers were present to answer Q&A..
