Enough! What is the cause for this irrational MTA-hating behavior? Fair criticism is one thing, but this is ridiculous. The MTA is at fault or in some way deficient because some schematics were lost? "the MTA is run by a bunch of nimrods" ??? First off, there's nothing that should lead anyone to conclude that these drawings are really of any importance. The Atlantic Avenue subway station has been completed for a while. You know who probably dropped the plans? Not an engineer, and not some stupid/incompetant/evil MTA brass, but some local maintenance guy. Or maybe a janitor, whose job it was to clean the airways. It's hardly a systemic problem. And what's with the reference to the so-called "secret MTA townhouse?" It's a ventilation shaft. Get over it. It's not disguised as a townhouse to keep it a secret, it's disguised as a townhouse as an effort to blend in, to be less obtrusive for its neighbors. Are you honestly critical of that? This kind of MTA-bashing is mindless and harmful. The MTA makes plenty of mistakes (the photo ban, for instance), and deserves criticism, but this is not one of those times.
