I actually took the time and read the responses indicated in this thread. Frightened by your ignorance's response was well stated. There is one problem in this country that frightens me the most. Young people, and I take it that most of us in this thread are young, are participating more than ever in this bullshit that has kept this country continuously at the low points that it endeavors. it seems that as soon as a black woman was at the height of a stupid ass mockery song, everyone wants to get involved with the slurring and hatred. I bet (and statistics shows) that 75% of the youth in this country doesnt know a damn thing about the area where the tsunami hit. If you did, you didnt care, until the COMPASSION tag was being handed out to folks, that's when everyone started jumping on the bandwagon.

yes there are atrocities that happen in this counrty everyday that need to be dealt with, but do we as uh-mericans really expect that we will take an internal concern and deal with domestic issues? well the threads indicate that we can't start with the basics. someone mentioned COMPASSION earlier, whites didnt start thinking about compassion until they learned that other uh-mericans were in the areas, and that you could claim a tax write-off for contribution. It's funny how the hurricane victims in Florida didnt rec a huge amount of charity, and shit, it's in this country!

This country supposedly has gone 40+ years backwards and the ship is steadily sinking. Alot of folks jumped on the oppurtunity to be internet cowards and state their little piece, and the cowrdice that all of you display, just shows how de-generate we're heading. If alot of you knew your background and the idiots who bred this mentality, then you would know that at sometime in their lives they regretted all of the stupidity that they helped build. Most of it started in the south and migrated it's way to north, then back south and then out west until ignorance prevailed all over this nation. Ladies and gentlemen, that shit sould have died off long time ago, but "no", they went to their graves happily knowing just how idiotic their offspring would become, that some of them happily obliged, even through suffrage and damnation!! I never said that there are not many different people in the world that have a good education, job and family but that is not why they are envied or hated on. IT is for the superficial that is my point. People are jealous of things in other people that they do not have themselves. GO to the 3 top high schools in New York. We can all condemn the stupidity of the song, the radio station and its sponsors. However, nothing in our society will get better until we stop defning ourselves by our race, in our comments. As human beings, we all find the song offensive. Yet we cause segregation by referring to ourselves as African-American, Asian-America. If we truly want to move towards unity, we should all refer to ourselves as Disgusted & Offended Americans.

After reading some if the idiotic comments by the morons who have nothing insightful to say and are just trying 'to stir the pot' and dismissing them for the crap they are, I must say I am disturbed by the comments made by That Sister, who I feel deserves the "MVR" award (Most Vile Racist) on this board. Your last post illustrates why differences and rifts between races exist. To say that "blacks are envied for their color, figures and take-no-shit-attitudes" may be one of the most racist statements ever made. But since it was made by another black, then it was okay. Maybe I should tell a few of the gentlemen (scientists and doctors....who happen to be black) that their positive contributions to society, the beautiful families they raised and the incredible education that they completed (and provided them with the greatest tool of power - knowledge) are not why they are admired.

You stated the "Asians are the smartest and most dedicated people living today"; while this statement compliments the 'Asians' (who I'm sure don't need your reassurance to feel good about their lives) it also shows your glaring ignorance and shallow view of the people in this world. I know several whites, blacks and asians who are very dedicated to living moral lives and are very 'smart'. Perhaps you should pay tribute to the effort made by any person who is educated. All people have access to schools and education, it is the effort made by the individual and the positive influence of their families that make a person 'smart', not the color of their skin!!

I think the song is distasteful and maybe offensive to a lot of people. I also think the song is funny. I believe it was meant as a joke to mock Michael Jackson and his child molesting case. Furthermore Miss Jones and Crew are not the only offensive radio personalities and some actually make it rich doing so ex: Howard Stern. Finally no one in NY said anything about the song until it was brought to Florida attention.

People in the wider wider Asian Community in the United Kingdom have been appalled by the song and they have been denouncing the cruel and racist Tsunami Song by Miss Jones and Todd Lynn aired over Hot 97, the hip hop radio station in New York.

The news of Hot 97's racist tsunami song is filtering through to the tsunami hit countries of Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Thailand, South India. People are incensed at the song which goes beyond human decency. The governments of the tsunami hit region have been urged to take the matter up with the US Government as it insults the deaths of so many tsunami victims.

Though some people may think that what was said was offensive, what about the big picture. Everyone in the world is being sympathetic about the destruction in those countries and want to send them money. Why? We have tsunami in this country every day. They say that people are homeless and don't have food. i can go outside right now in the US, Jersey and see homeless people that need food. Carity starts at home. With all the support coming from around the world and local jobs in our area we could fix some of our own problems. All the abandon house could be used as homeless shelter or sell them that people can pay taxes on them. The attention brought by Ms Jones should be used to turn this into a positive.
