Poor Jen, now who's being naive? Everyone knows that "retire to a Connecticut farm" is the oldest euphemism for pet euthanasia in the book. Right on about adopting from shelters though.

I love this story so much! I want there to be musicals with dogs on Broadway all the time! And the dogs that auditioned were sooo beautiful. People, if you're thinking of adopting a dog, go to a shelter.
