It seems that the worst that AccuWeather (channel 7) was preparing us for is turning out to be the most likely storm scenario. The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning effective from noon Saturday until noon Sunday. The NWS is now expecting between 12-15 inches of snow to fall over the city during that period. The snow will be accompanied by high winds with frequent gusts over 35 mph. Whiteout conditions, with zero visibility, are possible at times.
The NYC Office of Emergency Management has Winter Weather Preparedness tips on their website. Stay home, stay warm, be flexible in your plans, pay attention to the forecast as the weekend progresses, and be careful everyone.

As you can see from these weather patterns, where it says "Worst of Storm", we are RIGHT in the middle. So ladies and gentlemen, we're f*cked.
Why did the Snowman Drop his pants?
Cause he saw a Snowblower coming!
yukyuk
Will someone PLEASE make up their mind about how much snow we're going to get? Am I going out to shopping for a trick tomorrow night or am I ordering in?
Dare I dream of a snow day?
Weekend snow day?
I think it's time for the some hot chocolate!!
Also, will The Gates' pylons be covered?
one inch of snow for the city, I'm calling it now
I'm gathering, from listening to various sources, that we're going to get somewhere from a dusting to biblical amounts.
In other words, nobody knows diddly. Happy Saturday!
> In other words, nobody knows diddly.
Exactly. The forecasters have an ability to predict weather just above that of you local witch-doctor. Of course 'Blizzard of the Century' makes better headline than 'Light Dusting May Occur'. If it doesn't happen nobody remembers. Similar to the way the NY Post puts 'Dirty Bomb Plot' all over it's front cover, based on the slightest of evidence...
Good point, but IMO, people expect the Rag Known as the NY Post to scream "The Sky Is Falling!! The Sky Is Falling!!".
Me, I'm not listening to any forecasts. While I expect it to be cold and am prepared for snow, I'm not going tpo worry about it.
