Last Second Loss Redux; Lenny May Lose Next

The very average Chicago Bulls pulled out of town last night with their second "W" over the Knicks in 3 days. What is amazing about this is that both games were literally lost at the buzzer (in fact, Ben Gordon's runner put the Bulls ahead with .1 second to play) due to poor Knicks play. Yesterday, NY actually had an eight-point lead with just over three minutes left, yet somehow managed to stop scoring and give the game away yet again. The NBA's most expensive team has now lost 7 of their last 9 games.

These losses (especially the one to the Hornets last week) have put Lenny Wilkens' job in serious jeopardy. Isiah Thomas has sworn that he would never install himself in the coaching role, but the New York media have never really put much stock in that. Given Thomas' proclivity for trades, expect some shifts in both players and coaching before next month's trade deadline.

In other news, the Nets beat the cellar-dwelling Atlanta Hawks...by one point. It's amazing what Jason Kidd and Vince Carter can accomplish together (cough)!

I completely agree that Lenny is on his way out but I don't think Isiah will ever take the job himself. He likes to sit back and pull strings, certainly not take blame.

I smell Phil Jackson on the horizon.

Yeah, I was about to ask that - Phil Jackson would the shot in the butt the franchise needs right now.

Guys, Phil ain't coming. He won't risk his sterling reputation on this overpaid and lackluster team. Would you? If he returned for anyone, it would be the star filled but discombobulated Nuggets or T-Wolves.

Hmm... I always thought that if JVG lost favor in Houston, that would be Chief Triangle's next landing spot. I mean c'mon... Yao Ming & Tracy McGrady? It's got "in need of the Mystical Magical Jackson All-Star Cure" written over it.
