It took me over an hour (1 hr 35 minutes) to go from Newark Penn Station to New York Penn Station, thanks to a signal failure at Penn NY. Nothing like sitting in a packed train, still wearing my gloves because there is cold air blowing from the vents, and grinding my teeth because I need a cigarette and those 2 stupid kids running up and down the isle are making me crazy.

In all, it was a crappy commute!

Tien,

Hey, we must be neighbors. Not only was there about two inches of standing water on the stair landing (yuck!), there was a nice little waterfall effect going on from the cieling above the Queens-bound track. Bad times. Bad, soggy times.

I can honestly say that this is the most crowded the F train's ever been since I moved to Brooklyn. Couldn't move my arm to scratch an itch, and 10+ minutes added to commute = unhappy me.

My commute was fairly painless, but I should publicly apologize to the woman I inadvertantly whacked with my suitcase this morning.

Oddly enough, my commute went amazingly fast and pain-free.
I totally expected delays like we had during the hurricane, but through some sort of MTA magic I got from Brooklyn to my office in about 10 minutes faster than I normally do.
Perplexing.

I did see some idiot holding his umbrella with the hand that was holding onto the poll, which caused it to drip on the riders sitting below.
I wanted to dope slap him.

I live in Astoria and work in DUMBO, so you can imagine what my commute was like. The N/R/W definitely gave me painful memories of Hurricane Frances... sigh. I love how whenever it rains for 2 minutes the subway becomes a nightmare. Good job, New York.

I see the service advisory is gone from the MTA page, that's a slight relief.

While I was on said N/R/W line this morning (counting my blessings I live at the end of the line and could still get a seat), the train completely filled up within two stops. A stop later, I hear a woman outside the train loudly complaining to everyone inside the train that she can plainly see space in the car, and that people should let her in. Everyone grumbles and shuffles around and she squeezes in.

Then a stop later, I hear her shrieking about people pushing her or touching her or something.

Then a stop after that, I hear her demand everyone move so that she can get off the train. Simply amazing.

The subway (6) was so freaking STEAMY this morning that I left wetter than I came in. It was disgusting. But it ran on time! I was incredibly surprised since yesterday morning I had to walk to work. Blech.

I don't remember signing up to live in London, yet here we are.

My ankles are all soggy this morning. The Nassau Avenue G station was a total kiddie pool.

I almost yelled at a woman for putting her wet umbrella on a seat. That rant obout proper subway umbrella form was still fresh in my mind. Fortunately, the women redeemed herself by picking up the umbrella and sitting on the wet seat herself.
