Sell Outs

2005_01_artsslintreunites.jpgTime to start the new year off right, by seeing live music and not being left out on the cold cold sidewalk listening to your favorite songs echoing down the snow-filled street. This month there are a lot of hyped up bands coming our way. We are mainly talking about the Arcade Fire, if you don't have tickets we don't know what to tell you. If you're good at haikus you could try this contest. We'll also be having some ticket give-a-ways for some shows this month, and maybe MAYBE there will be an Arcade Fire one. But in the meantime, here are some tickets on sale that you can still buy:

- Mission of Burma @ Bowery Ballroom January 14th and January 15th
- The Dears/Benzos/Saints & Lovers/Headset @ Mercury Lounge January 15th
- The Hold Steady @ Mercury Lounge January 19th
- THE LAST SEA RAY SHOW EVER @ Mercury Lounge January 21st
- The Fever @ Bowery Ballroom January 22nd
- Colin Meloy (new date added!) @ the Fez January 24th. If you're asking yourself who Colin Meloy is he's in the Decemberists. He's only like the other Ben Gibbard people!
- Bright Eyes @ Town Hall January 25th, 26th and 27th
- Basically anything at Tonic this month is awesome
- Keane and the Zutons @ Hammerstein February 2nd
- Low and Pedro the Lion @ Bowery BallroomFebruary 3rd and February 4th
- Thurston Moore @ Knitting Factory February 6th
- Kings of Convenience @ Bowery BallroomFebruary 7th and February 8th
- Charlie Hunter @ Knitting Factory February 9th to 12th [with early and late shows]
- Neko Case @ Bowery Ballroom February 13th and February 14th
- French Kicks @ Bowery Ballroom February 17th
- The Futureheads @ Bowery February 22nd [unannounced as of yet, tickets not on sale yet]
- The Allman Brothers yearly multi-night stand @ Beacon Theater March 10th to 18th [Don't forget your pot! See, we're so helpful.]
- Slint [pictured] @ Irving Plaza March 18th and March 19th

And don't forget Motley Crue @ MSG March 3rd and everyone's favorite little lip-syncher Ashlee Simpson @ Hammerstein March 15th and 16th.

Of note: Modest Mouse is on the OC this week, "live" at the Bait Shop! You can't buy tickets, because the venue ISN'T REAL, but you can watch the ackward MTV video-esque performance on Fox this Thursday.

I'm excited about Mates of State/Ida/Regina Spektor at the Bowery Ballroom on Jan 21. Nothing beats a MOS show.
