Ian O'Connor's column which you referenced closed with "At day's end, the Jets are the Jets". That's all he needed to write. If the Jets are infact the Jets - then the Jets are in trouble - because the Jets are brutal. Even though your opening sentence was a bit confusing, you did take a shot at the Bills, therefore making it a literary masterpiece.

Truly, one of the least coherent, most rambling opening sentences I have ever read. "The Jets need amend their New Years Resolution to include thanking the Steelers for having a B-Squad good enough to keep the Buffalo Bills from the AFC Playofs, because St. Louis, and regardless of what the smarmy columnists may say, the Jets (10-6) received a spot after a 32-29 overtime loss to the Rams, who delivered in an actual must-win situation." Miserable, completely miserable.
