Happy Early Holiday Break!

It's only the 23rd, but Gothamist knows that many of you are headed out of town today (if you're not outta here already) with Christmas falling on a Saturday this year. Whether or not you celebrate Christmas, we hope you get to enjoy your time off in fun and safe fashion. Gothamist will be starting our vacation early as well: We'll be posting on a lighter, "holiday" schedule from now through January 2. But don't worry, when you're bored at home, there will still be fresh posts for you to read each day.

Also, after seeing the NY Times's tacit approval of animal abuse by way of the hat with their use of photos of animals in Santa hats, Gothamist decided to Santa-ize our logo. Happy Holidays, all!
