Electrical Fire At Con Ed This Morning

There was an electircal fire at Con Ed this morning, but luckily there were no injuries or power outages. However, this fire occured at the East 14th Street and Avenue C Con Ed station, which is where the July 20, 2002 blackout occured (also due to a fire, with the acird smell wafting through the East Village and Union Square area), leaving 63,000 customers without electricity for 7 hours. Of course, New Yorkers scoffed at that by the time August 14, 2003 rolled around.

At least we can rest assured that they're "on it".

Well, at least it didn't take the eastern Seaboard down...

Seriously! Can you imagine all the people who would have been late to work today, because of the power outage messing up their electric clocks?
