A must-try at Burger Joint: the brownies! Soooo good. I like to get there at 11:30 when the place opens to avoid those pesky lines and jockeying for a table. Order the brownies when you order your meal, and they should be ready -- and still warm -- by the time you finish that insanely good burger!

The secret has been out for a while now, to the point where this is almost a doublepost ([/metafilter]). If you had a keen eye, you may have noticed this was already an item via Ask gothamist: http://www.gothamist.com/ask/archives/2004/06/09/burger_time.php Only took me 3 tries to finally find the place. It's good stuff, although don't expect to be getting Jackson Hole size burgers.

wow, burger joint's getting lots of press!Manhattan Transfer did a great write up last Wednesday - http://manhattantransfer.blogspot.com/2004/11/revealed-secrets-of-le-parker-meridian.html picked up by Curbed - http://www.curbed.com/archives/2004/12/01/parker_meridiens_secret_burger_joint_revealed.php lil gossip on the place... the Producers of Survivor discovered the place a while ago and booked it out for a couple parties this summer. now I see ex-Surviors there all the time. fans should keep an eye out during the Survivor finale coming up in a couple weeks (the cast and crew also stay at the Parker Meridian)

Another mid-town burger place that really is amazing is Prime Burger on 51st b/w Madison and 5th. It isn't open late but the people inside are great and the burgers delish.

Sadly, the secret has been out for a while now (it was written up in the Times two years ago, of course), to the point where the line at lunch is sadistic. Still a good place at odd times like late afternoon or early evening, though.
