This is where Gothamist tells you what tickets to buy...because not every band gives it away for free on a flatbed truck (yes, we've somehow managed to make the free U2 show sound dirty.) So, before the tickets sell out and you are left bargaining on Craigslist, we are here to tell you what to buy...
-* First and foremost, they just put up extra tickets to the Guided By Voices shows this weekend. BUY THEM HERE!
- Le Tigre @ NYU December 2nd
- Yo La Tengo @ Maxwell's December 7th to 14th [Yes, all 8 nights of Chanakuh].
- Citizen Cope @ Bowery December 8th
- Moving Units & the Bravery @ Bowery December 9th
- Ambulance LTD @ Northsix December 9th
- Ted Leo @ Bowery December 12th [Note: December 11th show already sold out!]
- Juliana Hatfield @ Southpaw December 14th
- Joanna Newsom @ Bowery December 18th and December 19th [Note: We don't know if this will really sell out, Joanna Newsom's voice actually frightens us to the depths of our souls. But a lot of people like her.]
- Thurston Moore & Jim O'Rourke @ Tonic December 19th
- The Prosaics & Elefant @ Bowery December 20th
- VHS or Beta & The Scissor Sisters @ Hammerstein Ballroom December 19th
It's a short list, because we refuse to go into next year until it's at least December. But stay tuned next week for a Rockin' New Years Eve Sell Outs and what tickets to buy in the first part of '05. And as always Coolfer will be filling you in later this week on your weekly concert agenda.
If you want to thank us for this list you can do so by sending us tickets to the Pixies, which we didn't get in time. The glaring irony has not escaped us.
Did we miss anything? Let us know...

the le tigre show is actually on thursday, not friday.
The Prosaics are the latest and greatest.
Scissor Sisters, December 19th at Hammerstein Ballroom!
I went to a SS show recently and it was one of the few times I saw NYers move at a concert...
The fantabulous Scots the Trash Can Sinatras are doing two -- count 'em two! -- acoustic early shows this weekend at Fez. Both at 7:30. About $15 each!
A far better representation of Scotland than Franz Ferdinand could ever be, imho.
