Mike Logan Is Coming Back

2004_11_chrisnoth.jpg

NBC has announced that Chris Noth will be on Law & Order: Criminal Intent this January, reprising his role as Mike Logan. The last we saw Detective Mike Logan, he was investigating a murder in Staten Island that led him back to the 2-7 and Profaci, in the 1998 TV movie, Exiled, which is the only Law & Order movie to date; plus, there was Nicole Ari Parker as the murder victim's twin sister and Ice-T as a pre-L&O SVU drug dealer. See, he was "exiled" to Staten Island after punching a politician in his final episode on Law & Order (later, he became a wealthy man and squired around Sarah Jessica Parker, but that's another story for another time). What's interesting is that Zap2It says Noth's guest appearance may mean L&O:CI producers are looking to keep him as a backup for Vincent D'Onofrio, who has had two fainting incidents while on set, though NBC says this is a one-shot deal. Intriguing!

Where does Detective Mike Logan rank on your list of favorite L&O detectives? Do you have any ideas why Chris Noth looks so tired and bloated these days?

Chris Noth is here to stay! I can't decide which one is sexier; Goren or Logan.

D'Onofrio and Noth are very different, Only enjoy them. They are not comparable.

I am thrilled to learn that Chris Noth will be back as Detective Mike Logan on Criminal Intent!! He is my all time favorite L&O detective. I would be great if he would permanently replace D'Onofrio.

  • Noth is cool. I don't watch the show, but will tune in just to catch his performance--bags and all!

I must be really sad, for the first thing I thought of when I saw that promo last night was "I wonder if they are going to talk about it on Gothamist tomorrow"? How great would it be if D'Onofrio finaly snaps and b*tch slapps Noth on the set???.....It really must be x-mass time!

Ooh, Mikey Mikey Mikey! I think D'Onofrio is kind of cute, but Goren is such a know-it-all freak. I mean, he speaks German because he was stationed in Germany: fine. He knows about Islam because he had a Muslim girlfriend, OK. But all the other stuff he just "knows," it's just too stupid! Mikey doesn't know squat. :) But he knows how to ask questions and learn about stuff. Welcome back, Mikey! And remember: "Public lewdness!"

    Number one, baby!

    He's getting older.

Not enough sex in the city, perhaps.

  • I love BD Wong but his character is so annoying. Something about his placid, know-it-all demeanor.

A L&O world with Mike Logan and without Serena Southerlyn? Hallelujah!

Noth looked atrocious in the commercials for that made-for-TNT movie he was in a few months ago. The bags under his eyes were e.nor.mous. I hope he's back in fighting shape for CI. Although anybody would look better next to that doughbag D'Onofrio. Looks like I'll be adding CI to the TiVo.

Too bad it's only a guest spot. Logan was an great character and it will be cool to see him reunited with Briscoe. Do they ever rerun that L&O movie? I've never seen it.

I would love to see Noth replace that hambone D'Onofrio on L&O: CI. But for now I'm happy because it's looks like they're finally getting rid of BD Wong and Elisabeth Rohm (two of my least favorite L&O actors).
