According to Steven Tom, U2 will be at the Brooklyn Bridge at around 4:30PM.
Our readers chase U2 through Manhattan. Surprisngly, only one photo of the band's NYC shenanigans has appeared on Flickr and Stereogum has photos of the band in Times Square.

How old and crotchety am I? I see this and my immediate reaction is "This is totally going to screw up my commute home tonight to Brooklyn."
U2's ego combined with a collective mid-life crisis makes this all yawn worthy. Also this supposed concert in Brooklyn ain't no concert. It's basically one big shooting session for some video. It's not like they're going to setup and sing their hearts out. Their singing for the cameras and if you happen to be there, you're window dressing on the event. It's not for you folks. It's for the camera eye. Prepare to be let down.
Yes it's probably all about publicity, but the bigger question is whether Bono has found what he's looking for?
I just got back from the concert. Amazing!
Not a let down. All you people in Brooklyn love to hate on anything mainstream or not ironic.
The show was great. It seemed like everyone had a camera phone. I have the set list and links to my pictures here.
Funny, i was there and i could have sworn that they played for an hour and played 5-6 new songs...but again caption...i might be wrong
Jeff, well I guess they did play for more than a few minutes. But it was mainly a stunt. When the majority of people there are VIPs and there is only room for a couple of thousand people, the event is less for the fans and more for U2 and MTV. It's a stunt with tons of unpaid extras.
No doubt live and free concerts are fun in New York, but this was not the first time something like this has happened, and it definitely was not the best.
over an hour, 11 songs, no more cameras than at any concert, anywhere. only this one was outdoors with the manhattan skyline as a backdrop. i've been going to shows for 30 years and this was (admittedly unexpectedly and unbelievably) one of the best
Caption, what's the probelm? Edge never sent you that autographed picture?
such a good show. made my week!
Thanks for the pics, Amy. Makes me sorry I missed it... damn employment!
I think captions trucker hat is too tight
tell me where i can email my pics to or post them. i sent some to tien.
A pic from the show (forgot my long lens!)
also one from the four-hour wait before hand
Does waiting for four hours make me seem like a sucker? Maybe, but I'm glad I went. They were definitely playing this one for the audience.

Yeah, it was not for the fans. That's why they played 45 minutes instead of 30. How selfish of them!
BTW, I've got a couple pictures posted on my site. Enjoy!
Can't believe I missed the breaking news on the concert, even more so as this is on my commute home.
This is what I get for not compulsively reading gothamist.com every hour of the day.
*sulks*
stop hating.
here's my review and enjoy some more pix.

Whoop! Sorry about that trackback ping... must've picked it up by accident.
We took this cool video when U2 passed right by our office near Madison Square Garden. Check it out!
